Testing new equipment: 360x180° panorama of Roman fort

Following this link you will experience a 3D view of a Roman fort in Northern Switzerland. Nine pictures were required to build this 360x180° panorama (it's my first, others might follow ..).

  • Six shots around the vertical axis to cover the 360° circle.
  • Two additional shots for zenith and bottom (to complete the 360x180° sphere).
  • The ninth shot was required to image the floor without tripod/panorama head.

The pictures were stitched using PTGui and the result converted using a equirectangular projection (see picture below).

Equipment and setting used:

  • Pentax K5-IIs with DA 10-17mm fish-eye lens at 10mm, f/11, 1/250 s
  • Tripod
  • panorama head Nodal Ninja 3-II
