Kefalonia is a beautiful island with pronounced mountainous areas, rich flora & fauna and a varied cost line with beautiful and lonely beaches to be discovered. Development of tourism on the “green island” was slower compared to the other Ionian Islands as Corfu, Lefkada and Zakynthos and in most parts of the island the original agricultural character is well preserved.  
 

The above picture is taken from a stand-up paddle (SUP) in the Southern part of the island showing the Lourdas Beach and Mount Aenos which elevates 1609 m above the sea level. Somewhere in the middle of the scenic view you may spot the small village Lourdata. A fantastic place to have a coffee here is the Café Platanos which hosts a small museum as well. Enjoy the breathtaking view from the balcony in 3D using this link. Let your eyes wander from the banana trees and the green fern of the ground to the horizon of the Mediterranean Sea. Take a deep breath of fresh air. You will think that you never had a better Cappuccino in your whole life before.
